Rayburn College IQAC in collaboration with Department of Political Science conducted a talk on Human Rights, Duties, Values and Responsibilities of Citizens on the 17th of November, 2021. The speaker, Dr. Langthianmung Vualzong is an Assistant Professor from Department of Political Science, Rayburn College. He completed his doctorate degree from Jawaharal Nehru University.
The objective of the talk is to enrich both the faculty members and the students to a higher understanding of the importance of Human values. A total number of thirty six students and teachers participated. The talk seeks to broaden the knowledge pool of students and faculty alike on particular topics like Fundamental rights, duties, provision for protection of rights as enshrined in the constitution and how all these ideas conjoined to give prominence to human rights. The speaker, Dr.Vualzong, an alumni of JNU, drawing from his experiences while he was in the University Campus gave illustration and real life insight on the importance of asserting our rights and performing our duties as a citizen of this country.
After the talk, the floor was open for discussion. Teachers and students alike engage in a lively discussion on topics ranging from reservation to freedom of religion and how all of these are related with upholding Human rights and adhering to our duties as citizens of India.
The speaker was presented a certificate as a token of appreciation along with. After a few gracious words from the Vice Principal, Head of Department of Political Science and IQAC coordinators the talk was concluded.
