“Sociology and Its Prospects”
The Department of Sociology at Rayburn College hosted an interactive session on June 20th, 2024, focusing on the theme “Sociology and Its Prospects.” The session took place in the Faculty Lounge and featured Dr. Roluahpuia, Assistant Professor of Sociology from the Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee.
Dr. Roluahpuia provided an overview of sociology as a discipline concerned with understanding social structures, interactions, and dynamics within societies. He emphasized its interdisciplinary nature and relevance in addressing contemporary social issues. The session explored recent trends and methodologies in sociological research. He highlighted the integration of new technologies and qualitative approaches in studying complex social phenomena.
