Rayburn College, November 16, 2022: The college’s Geography Department, in collaboration with Rayburn College’s Research and Development Department, organized a “One-Day Workshop to Observe GIS Day 2022” today at 2:00 p.m. in the college’s conference hall. The theme of the workshop was “Skill Enhancement in Spatial Science.”

The program was moderated by Sir Paukhankhual Tonsing, Assistant Professor in the Department of Geography, and Dr. S. Thangboi Zou gave a brief welcome address to all participants. The workshop was physically attended by the 5th Semester students and all faculties of the Department of Geography, Rayburn College.

Two speakers participated in this event namely Dr. LTS Guite, Assistant Professor in the Department of Geography, Central University of Punjab. He spoke on “Application of GIS in Research”.

The other speaker today was Dr. Aparesh Patra, CEO and Founder of Hake Technologies. He presented his paper on “Career and Opportunities in GIS.”

The program was concluded with Vote of Thanks given by Dr. Chinglianmawi, Asst. Professor, Dept. of Geography, Rayburn College. Besides resource persons were awarded with certificates, participation certificates, were given to all online and offline participants too.
