NEILIT

The Information Technology Centre of the college currently serves as one of the premier National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology (NIELIT) Extension Centres in Churachandpur, Manipur. NIELIT is an Autonomous Scientific Society under the administrative control of Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MoE & IT), Government of India, which was set up to carry out Human Resource Development and related activities in the area of Information, Electronics & Communications Technology (IECT). As a NIELIT extension centre, the IT Centre is engaged both in formal and non-formal education in the area of IECT, besides the development of industry-oriented quality education and training programmes.

COURSES OFFERED:

1. Short Term Course:

  1. Course on Computer Concepts (CCC) (3 months)
  2. Computer Applications Associates (CAA) (6 months)

Course on Computer Concepts [CCC]

NSQF Level: 2

Objective: The course is designed to equip a person to use computers for professional as well as day to day use. It provides theoretical background as well as in depth knowledge of Software/ packages. After completing the course, the incumbent will be digitally literate and will be able to:

  • Acquire confidence in using computers in Office and General Life;
  • Will be able to identify the basic components of computers and terminology;
  • Understand file management;
  • Create documents using word processor, spreadsheet & presentation software;
  • Understand computer networks, and browse the internet, content search, email and collaborate with peers;
  • Use e-Governance applications; and use computer to improve existing skills and learn new skills
  • Understanding Social Networking platform
  • Using internet for Digital Financial services
  • Develop knowledge about Future skills of the various schemes of Government.

Computer Applications Associate (CAA)

Job Description: A person who has completed CAA can apply as a computer operator in any firm, can get placed at clerical levels like receptionist, computer operator or cyber café owner, can also work at BPO. CAA certificate holder can execute basic computer tasks and can also become a computer teacher at primary level or can also own Computer teaching Centre for children or adults who wish to learn computer basics.

  • Computer Foundations = 70 Estimated size (hrs) (Level 4)
  • System Maintenance & Information Security = 80 Estimated size (hrs) (Level 4)
  • Internet Technology & Web Design = 80 Estimated size (hrs) (Level 4)
  • Multimedia = 80 Estimated size (hrs) (Level 4)
  • Concepts of DBMS = 80 Estimated size (hrs) (Level 4)
  • Sub Total (A) = 390 Estimated size (hrs)
  • Project / OJT (B) = 30 Estimated size (hrs) (Level 4)
  • Employability Skill (C) = 30 Estimated size (hrs) (Level 4)
  • Total (A+B+C) = 450 Estimated size (hrs)
