With the introduction of the Science stream in the college, the Department of Botany at Rayburn College was established in the year 2020. The vision of the department is to achieve excellence in the study of plant sciences by disseminating and creating knowledge, addressing modern-day challenges, coexisting, unravelling the prime role of plants in the evolution, synergy of nature and conserving with human touch through quality education and research. The department has a well-equipped laboratory and classrooms with excellent teaching aids, and is actively involved in both teaching and research. The department has two botanical gardens, one within the campus and another at Mata village in the district, of approximately 2.0 acres. The duty-conscious and deeply devoted staff members maintain a high standard for the continued growth of the department.
