As per the provisions laid down by The Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989, Act No.33 of 1989, dated 11/09/1989 & the Notification No. GSR – 316 (E) by the Ministry of Welfare, New Delhi dated 31/03/1995 and as per the UGC Directives to be adhered and followed by the educational institutes in this regard, The Rayburn College has constituted an SC/ST committee in 2020 for the general welfare of SC/ST students of the college with regards to the scholarships, admission procedures and other miscellaneous affairs. The committee promotes the special interests of the students in the reserved category, which comprises of the larger section of the students’ community in the college. As such, the matters relating to the special category need to be addressed with a paramount detail. The committee also looks into the matters that may hamper the students’ progress and learning.
1. To implement, monitor and evaluate continuously the Reservation Policy in the college.
2. To ensure effective implementation of policies and programmes/schemes for the SC/ST students, at State and Central level, if any.
3. To create and maintain safe, healthy and supportive environment for SC/ST students in the campus.
4. To address the issues of SC/ST students and ensure the prevention of atrocities against them.
5. To provide special inputs into the areas where the students experience difficulties of any kind.
