“ARSH for You” orientation programme organised by PFI & NSS Cell Manipur
A programme on Adolescent Health and Well-being with primary focus on Thoubal and Churachandpur Districts was organised by Population Foundation of India, a National NGO in partnership with NSS Cell Manipur.
The orientation for “ARSH (Adolescent Reproductive and Sexual Health) for You” for Churachandpur District was held at Rayburn College hosted by NSS Rayburn College. Participants comprising of volunteers and POs from Lamka College, Churachandpur College and Rayburn College attended the programme on the 10th of February.
Population Foundation of India was established in 1970 by Bharat Ratna JRD Tata and Dr Bharat Ram, the Population Foundation of India is a national civil society organisation which promotes and advocates effective formulation and implementation of gender-sensitive population, public health and development strategies and policies. The Foundation works with the government, both at the national and state levels and with other civil society organisations. The areas of work include family planning, adolescent health and well-being, community monitoring of public health services, and women’s rights and empowerment.
Adolescent Reproductive and Sexual Health (ARSH) for You programme is a self-paced (6-8 hours long) teacher-training digital course that aims to equip educators primarily with relevant knowledge, skills and attitudes to transact reproductive and sexual health education to adolescents effectively and empathetically. The course explores gender, sexuality, power, diversity, consent, relationships, violence, STIs and contraception, with low-cost interactive classroom activities like games and facilitations tips.
