Rayburn College Team pays a visit to relief centres.
Rayburn College team under the initiative of the College Chaplain and Counsellor visited six Relief Camps (IDC) from 13th to 14th November, 2023, and spent time with the children. The purpose of the activity is to interact with the internally displaced children; encourage, motivate, and challenge them to have hope in difficult.
With the break out of the ethnic war on May 3, 2023, many people were displaced from their homes. The effect on children was overwhelming and insurmountable. Not to mention some of the major challenges (shelter, food, drinking water, and clothing), so many children couldn’t continue their education. With the purpose of giving moral support encouraging and motivating the children, a team consisting of 23 students, under the guidance of the college Chaplain and Counsellor, visited six Relief Camps (IDC) and spent time with the children.
The students sing and dance with the children, tell stories, and pray for the children. Recreational games were conducted and all the children were participating. At least one hour of interaction time was spent with the children. The children (IDC) shared their stories, experiences, dreams, and expectations they have for the future.
As a token of love, the students distribute fruit juice and biscuits to everyone.
